From new soccer fields to new park equipment and a splash pad, a $1.7 million-dollar renovation project to Sauk City's August Derleth Park will make it a destination for visitors and create a place for the community to enjoy for many years to come.

"We are really excited about his project and having a place that everyone in the community can enjoy was important to us," said Vicki Breunig, village administrator for Sauk City. "We've made sure the playground, the splash pad and a path that gives visitors access to the riverfront are all compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)."

Playground equipment purchased by Miller and Associates of Sauk City will be handicap accessible and instead of wood chips the ground surface will be a pour and play which is a spongy like constancy making it completely ADA compliant and accessible.
